Opinion And Thoughts

 In my opinion, the film is the one of Joko Anwar’s coolest and bravest movies. I think this movie is not about the action, but about the hard things our county has experienced in 1998. It has a lot of deep messages about how trauma and mistakes that can affect present and future. Joko Anwar did an amazing of making a story that feels both exciting and meaningful at the same time.

I think the story mixes scary moments with real life problems really well. The main character is Edwin, Edwin is a teacher who goes to a school for troubled kids to find his missing nephew. But things get dangerous when the school is attacked by Jefri, who student with many troubled  and Edwin must fight to survive. This film is set in 2027 makes the story feel close to us, like it could happen soon, this creates a sense of urgency and makes who watch this movie is can think could get to this point if we don't deal with our issues.

In my opinion about characters and acting, i think Morgan Oey did a great act as Edwin. He plays a character with normal at first, but then he’s forced to change quickly to survive. what i am impressed that is how the character is goes from being a teacher to becoming a strong leader in such a tough situation. In the beginning, Edwin just try to find his nephew but at the end, he fight to survive from Jefri and his friend. The other character is interesting because the students have their own stories.

My opinion about cinematography. In my opinion, the cinematography feel scary and tight by using dark lighting, and then the movie is set in a school was a former prison, so that looks old and falling apart that makes it feel even more dangerous. There’s also a lot of intense music and sound effect that make everything feel even more real.

Thought on the movies message, there’s a lot of discrimination and violence in the story. And i think it’s showing us that we need to change how to treat people, especially those who are different. The movie ask us to think about how we can do better, make the world safe for everyone and we must renove the bad culture that like a discrimination.
